Swiss Financial System

"What is TWINT?"

In Switzerland, “TWINT” is a mobile payment solution usable online or in-store.

It allows you to make payments, send money, and complete various other financial transactions using nothing but your smartphone and a QR code.

TWINT was developed as a joint venture and co-founded by PostFinance, Credit Suisse, and UBS.

Since then, TWINT has gained widespread adoption as a convenient and secure way to manage transactions digitally, pay in shops, for public transport, or to pay friends and family using nothing but the mobile number linked to their TWINT account.

Setting up a TWINT account is easy, just download the app onto your phone (some banks have their own specific TWINT app), register your account and mobile number, link your bank account and (with a few more simple steps typical to such accounts) you’re ready to go!

Living and working in Switzerland makes TWINT a must have app for most people, running alongside your main bank account.
